Laurie is a creative lover of the arts and how they can play a part in one’s healing journey. Her passions of art, working with children, and helping others have brought her to this moment in time today. Laurie is currently a graduate student earning her Master’s Degree in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University. Her kindness, patience, and openness to listen and learn about others has played a big role in her ability to connect with those she has been in contact with and worked with.
Laurie has been able to bring creativity to those of all ages. Recently, she has worked with adolescents in middle and high school in Brockton. She has helped them explore some aspects of Expressive Arts Therapy and the healing power that can come through the arts. Laurie is currently drawn to the Person Centered approach and the Narrative approach. Her hope in applying these theories is to empower those she works with to reach inward to ignite a spark that can lead them to solace.
Outside of being a student, Laurie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, creating for herself and others, trying new foods and recipes, and participating in activities at her local church.
