Guan has come to understand the importance of maintaining healthy relationships while building and enhancing insight into innate skills that clients already possess. Guan is an expert in working with individuals, couples, and trauma survivors.
In 2017, Guan started Leading Light Behavioral Health, Inc. to focus on building therapeutic partnerships with clients (couples, families, friends, and individuals); by offering an opportunity to step outside of the conventional environment, which can influence unhealthy development and negative behavior.
Guan has worked in the human and social services profession for over 20 years. She has developed her skills while working as a Social Worker for the Department of Children and Families, a Substance abuse clinician and group facilitator with Highpoint Treatment Center, an Outpatient clinician, and a child and family therapist with a multitude of agencies within Massachusetts.
Guan is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Social Worker, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Adjunct Professor for an Adult Graduate Program focusing on Marriage and Family Therapy, as well as a Leadership Psychology PsyD candidate. Guan holds a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts, and a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. She is also the author of the Inspire the Aspired product line. With products such as the Path to Positive coping skills cards, IA affirmation cards, Weekly Planner for Clinical professionals, Design your Career Masterclass and Workbook, and the IA Guided Anxiety Journal.
Upcoming projects: Leading Light Mental Health Clinic, Inc (LLMHC) was established in January 2023. LLMHC focuses on a therapeutic community-based approach – meeting clients where they are.
Leading Light Consulting Firm (LLCF) will be opening later this year. The firm will focus on executive coaching, trauma-informed practices in the workplace, and organizational development through training and facilitation.
In her spare time, Guan enjoys being creative, learning new things, reading, and binge-watching TV series.
